Why Would You Spray Foam Yourself?

5. You take pride in having done a project by yourself, or learning a new skill.

Sometimes spray foam contractors offer prices for larger projects that seem attractive. However, not all spray foam contractors are created equal. Take a look at the pictures below from a VERY well-known national installer and see if you'd be happy with the results.

Needless to say, this customer was miffed. And even then, this nationwide installer refused to make it right! In his own words:

“I just had a contractor spray foam insulation in my new house. I think I should have done it myself. It was the open foam and was supposed to be full fill in the walls. Many parts of the wall are not filled all the way and I want to fill them the rest of the way myself. I paid extra for full fill and the contractor gave me a discount and left saying it wasn't worth fixing it and it wouldn't make any difference. I think most of the wall is filled, why not finish the rest?”

We know some great spray foam contractors who do amazing jobs for their customers. If you want to have someone else do it for you, just make sure you find someone really trustworthy.
